The Shaatz pessary is primarily used for second or third- degree uterine prolapse and cystocele. Its convex shape ensures a snug fit drainage holes aid in removal.

 

Insertion

Compress the flexible outer rim of the circular disk to fold it in half, apply a water-based lubricant to the leading edge, and guide it obliquely past the introitus along the natural curve of the posterior vaginal wall. Once deep within the vaginal vault, allow the device to unfold completely into its circular shape, then push it high into the apex so that the central structural opening centers directly under the cervix and the anterior rim hooks securely behind the pubic symphysis to hold the prolapse upward.
