The Ring pessary, available with or without a supporting membrane, is primarily used for mild first- degree uterine prolapse and cystocele.

Insertion

Firmly compress the opposite rims of the ring into an elongated "taco" shape, apply a water-based lubricant to the leading edge, and guide it past the introitus obliquely along the posterior vaginal wall. Once deep within the canal, release your grip to allow the ring to expand back into its circular shape, then use an index finger to guide the posterior rim high into the posterior fornix and tuck the anterior rim securely behind the pubic symphysis, finishing with a slight manual rotation away from the midline tissue line.
