The Cup pessary, available with or without a supporting membrane, is primarily used for first or mild second-degree uterine prolapse. This pessary is similar to the dish without a knob.

Insertion

Compress the flexible outer rim to fold the circular dish in half, apply a water-based lubricant to the leading edge, and guide it smoothly past the vulva at a downward angle along the pelvic floor's natural curve. Once deep inside, allow the dish to completely unfold and position its concave center directly underneath the cervix or vaginal vault remnant, ensuring the wide perforated surface area distributes apical pressure evenly while the anterior rim anchors snugly behind the pubic bone.
